I asked our friend Ramadan to write us something about the situation in Gaza, after the withdrawal of the settlers. Here is his letter to all of us. Thanks Ramadan!
Dear All;
The Israeli withdrawal is jumping up in the news as it’s the event of the world. Oh my God isn’t it sad all those settlers who are leaving their houses and crying to be forced to do it. Oh my God those nice people are leaving due to the bad criminal Palestinian. This is the picture that the world is receiving through the media. I have a little order point here, don’t you all see the houses that are located under the settlements, have you ever thought of the dead bodies that are buried under those nice red roof houses of the settlers?
Our Palestinian young people and the poor young Israeli soldiers died while fighting on different sides. Its not their land and not their houses. In Gaza there were 22 settlements – most of them were empty, they were only there to impose the occupation on us. Isn’t it enough now? We see it also as a big move but we are not happy, because our brothers in the West bank are still suffering and bleeding due to the settlements. Also Israeli soldiers are fighting there in a war that’s not their war. Its not true the picture that you all see, settlers are crying and Palestinians are happy, no, it’s the opposite, Palestinians cried a lot and are still crying because they are the only people in the world who are still occupied. What’ s your feeling if someone comes from a different country and takes over your house and distroys it and build up his house on its ruins?
Dear Ramadan. I watch many news channels, adn all of them made a picture about the settlers like you described in your letter. it is awfull adn embarashing. I feel ashamed of our western media. They showed so few background, and they made it like Israel payed a high price. All lies. The ones who payd the price in blood are the Palestinians. But people don’t like to hear bad news, they want to hear good news. Hallelujah peace is on its way. What a farce. We are thinking about you and your palestinian brothers and sisters. And maybe you can write more on this weblog about developments, and how the normal people feel and what they think. I am not interested at al in what Abas is doing, but I am interested in what you and your friends are thinking and what is the effect of this all on daily life.
Sincere
Thanks for your contribution Ramadan. For me your story has nothing new, because we have often contact. For me here in Holland it is also very difficult to explain why this withdrawal in fact is nothing else but justice, no more. It seems the world has forgotten that Israeli occupants also are occupants and that they need to be kicked need to be kicked out like all ordinary occupants.
Dear Ramadan,
I hope one day you will not need to write us this letter. And palestanians will live as normal as we do here
all the best,
Dear All;
again, we have contact on anja’s weblog which i would love to thank here alot for giving us all this great apportunity to contact and talk about our feelings.
I would like to say one thing now that we dont find happiness yet, its lost and not in our reach. Myber psychologists could help here, maybe we lost the meaning of happiness due to the long sorrow we lived in. Can you imagine why we dont feel it, Gaza will be free in 2-3 days as the Israeli defence (war) minister says, but we dont feel it, we can not smell the freedom breaz. Our freedom breez comes from north, from the west bank which is the other piece of our land that was occupied in 1967. Oh my god, i think its is difficult to imagine how will we talk about a free Gaza that is closed by an electric fense, hahahahaha, really its funny, we are free inside Gaza, ok its an improvement.
Love and respect
